How it first started:

The first Reggae recordings in Latin America were made in Panama in the mid-1970's. The large number of Jamaican immigrants brought in to build the Panama Canal, brought reggae music with them and introduced it to the local population. Without Panamanian reggae, Reggaeton old probably never caught on. Some even argue that reggaeton itself started in Panama, and that Puerto Rican artists added influences from house music and hip hop. In 1985, a rapper called Vico C from Puerto Rico produced one of the first Spanish-language hip hop records in Puerto Rico.

Vico C (born Armando Lozada Cruz on Septmeber 8. 1971) is a Puerto Rican rap singer who was born in New York but raised in Puerto rico.

Toward the middle of the decade, Puerto Ricans were producing their own riddims with clear influence from hip hop and other styles.

Reggaeton Street Beef first started back in the 1990's. Todays Reggeaton Street Beef is different then it was when it first started back in the 1990's. Back in the 1990's Reggaeton Street Beef was just a hobby, a Sport, something to do for fun other than just singing and/or raping. Throughout the years, Reggaeton Street beef has become more and more realistic. Now Reggaeton Beef is when you have beef with someone and you handle it through a freestyle. Freestyling back and forth till one is done. Sometimes things get out of hand and become more serious. The beef can turn out to become fights in clubs, concerts, or wherever they see each other. Now in days there are many reggaeton beefs. There are rapers or singers that have more than one beef. For an example, Arcangel, he has beef with more than 5 people.

Beef:

There are many artists who have beefs with each other. The most popular are Arcangel, Polaco, Yomo, Hector 'El Father', Don Omar, Tempo, and many more are the most popular beefs today.

Also there are groups thats freestyle. For example Tempo was in Buddas Family, which he now is out of.

There are so many things you could talk about when it comes to Reggaeton Street Beef. There are different people you could talk about and their life through their beef with people.

Beefs between different artists:

Arcangel... He has beef with many people. One popular beef with him is with Polaco. It all started by Arcangel buying a record label from Zion (another singer/raper). Arcangel started asking other singers and or rapers to sign up and join the record and most of them said no. Arcangel got a little upset and started beefing with many of them. The most popular beef right now with Arcangel is with polaco.

My opinion: Arcangel is good, Dont get me wrong but i think right now Polaco is killing him. Polaco is the best right now until tempo gets out f prison. What i like about Arcangel is that he got alot of gutts to even beef with Polaco and that makes him look very good. But like i said, my opinion, Polaco is killing Arcangel.
